Dandy Warhols News and Rumors Archive - February 2003

February 28, 2003 - U.S. tour info (not as exact as you want)
Hello, folks. With the announcing of U.K. tour dates, some people are wondering what this means for any U.S. appearances. A source told me just a bit ago some info on this, which is partially obvious, but it at least confirms somet guesses. Currently the band is putting the finishing touches on the U.S. tour, which will happen in the summer. The impression I got was that the shows would be right around the release date, which places them in late July.

Anyway, I know that is vague. but it is mostly just to assure people that a U.S. tour is coming relatively soon after the U.K. tour. More info later.

By the way, my email works again.

February 24, 2003 - Justin Fucked Up.
I had a computer error or something the other day... and the short of it is that I can not read my emails right now. I can see that I get them, but I can't read them. I'll catch up when I figure out the problem. Z, I know what your email is about, I'll get in touch with you.

February 21, 2003 - More Tour Dates; Chelmsford 98 on the net this Tuesday
wayahead.com has listed two more U.K. tour dates:
Glasgow, Scotland on April 17th at Glasgow Academy
London, England on APril 23 at Brixton Academy

Of course, these dates are subject to change.

on BBC6 Radio, they are going to be playing parts of the Dandy Warhols' Chelmsford '98 set during a show called "Dream Theater". The show begins at 10PM London time (I'm not going to do the calculations for you. Last time I tried, during the bands tour last summer, I fucked it all up) and you can listen to it digitally on the net. As an additional bonus, it will be available to listen to for a week after it airs, anytime you want to hear it. Again, just go to the website for it.

February 20, 2003 - Tour Dates
Pollstar.com has released the first three announced tour dates, but remember they are tentative. They are on the Upcoming Shows page.

Note: These are tentative dates, and could be subject to change.

February 19, 2003 - Possible Monkeyhouse Release Date
Someone on the official messageboards posts that Welcome To The Monkeyhouse will be out on July 22nd. No reason to believe them, but since that is a tuesday, no reason to not believe it either.

February 18, 2003 - DW @ SxSW?
This comes from the official sites messageboard.

Currently, the band is listed as possibly playing at this years South By Southwest music conference, which takes place from March 12-16. Their status is listed as "To Be Announced"...

Gothman, webmaster of the official site, has said that this isn't true, and I personally believe him in this case. The festival is about 3 weeks away, and I just can't picture them playing that soon from now. But, I'm checking a few other places for info and will see if maybe there is truth to it. My money is on no.

February 13, 2003 - Spin Mag comp on ebay
Was doing my regular search of eBay and noticed that someone is auctioning off the Spin Magazine compilation CD that has The Last High on it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2508141251&category=2250.

Auction ends on Feb 18th.
February 6, 2003 - MTV article about the new album
Go to the Album 4 Section to see what MTV has said about the new album.

February 4, 2003
Go to the "Album 4" update page for a couple of pieces of new info on The Last High.

Short and sweet version:
The version of TLH that was with the Spin mag comp. was an alternate mix and not the album mix.
It probably will be the second single from the new album.

Additionally, there are 17 pictures in Brents photo section, taken at a recent party. The most groundbreaking news gathered from it? Brent has an old phone. Oh, and the girl in the back of the lat picture looks very familiar, and very pretty.

February 1, 2003
Another dual-page update. This should only be a site update post, but I added something new, so I would like as many people as possible to try it and tell me what they think:

I have taken the lazy route to fixing the chat room problem, and just changed its whole basis. It is now a Java-based chat, but it actually might be better. The chat link in the menu still works, so you can check it out with that. Let me know your opinion of the new chat if you get a chance.

Or just go to: http://slabtown.net/cgi-sys/mchat.cgi?channel=slabtown.net. I'm too nice to all of you.
