Online Review
at The Met Cafe
By Peter J. Daley, Jr.

The Met was everything the dandy list said it was and even better. a great place to see a band, and i encourage the locals to support the place to keep it open. it kind of reminded me of seeing the dandys back in the day. the met is just a little larger than satryicon in portland, and was the perfect place to end my dandy week. the show started a little late (philly started right at 8pm), but i do not remember the time. i know it was after 10pm before the dandys came onstage. the met is a small place, but all the better to soak up a dandy experience. of the 3 shows i saw this week, it was the longest. while waiting for the dandys to come onstage, i watched the room in anticipation. the met was filled with all kinds of beautiful people, all waiting for the same thing, the dandys! i was able to get up close next to zia, my favorite place to be. i was 1 “row” back from the stage. as soon as the show started, i was in bliss. layers of sound enveloped me. the crowd was into it, and the dandys knew it. love was in the air, and we were surrounded by it. dandy shows are almost ethereal experiences, and i was soaking this one up in a major way! the sights, the sounds, and the smells all make for a great live experience. WOW!!! what a show! after the show the dandys mingled, and chatted with all. i thanked the dandys for a great show, and a great week. zia remembered that i was at the philly show, and gave me her set list. that makes me 5 for 5 for set lists this summer. the bowery show in nyc, roseland in portland, irving in nyc, tla in philly, and my new favorite club, the met in providence!
