Arhus, Denmark - March 6, 2001

Online/Dandysrule2 Review
at Train
By Nina Stenhoj Christensen

I went to my first Dandy Warhols concert at Train, Århus, Denmark on the 6th of March. And although my expectations were sky-high, I was anything but disappointed. It was a small venue with space enough for a couple of hundred people, and when the Warhols went on stage to perform, there was crowded. The warm up band was a british band called Cousteau, and they were okay. When they were playing, I put my self together and headed for the merchandise stall. My brother had seen someone sell merchandise and I guessed that it was some of the members of the band.

And there was Zia selling t shirts and albums. I told her that I was a big fan of the Dandy Warhols, (which is absolutely true) and that it was my first Warhols concert. She congratulated me. She seemed really nice, and I wasnīt trying to flatter her, I just didnīt know what else to say. I got autographs (yeah, I know it seems adolescent), and a picture of Brent, Zia, and me, taken by Zias fiancee. I also met Courtney, and they all seemed friendly and down to earth. Itīs great they sell their own merchandise, and stand among the audience and watch the warm up band. It seems like a down to earth thing to do, and a great way to stay in touch with their fans.

I recieved the photos this very morning, and they turned out to be good. The Warhols rocked on stage, it was an energetic setlist, and amazingly cozy. The air was thick with grass and cigarettes, and the Dandies chatted with the audience, and asked for requests. The light and sound was optimal. Of all the shows Iīve been to, this was by far the most brilliant, and Iīve seen The Stones twice, The who, Tina Turner, Elton John, Runrig, + several Danish groups.

They were smashing, and Iīm looking forward till the next time they stop by and say hi here in Denmark again. I canīt remember the order, but they played (in no order at all, however they did start with 'Country Leaver'): Country Leaver, TV Theme Song, Hard on for Jesus, Good Morning, Green, Boys Better, Minnasoter, Junkie, Get Off, Mohammed, Solid, Horse Pills, Godless, Bohemian Like You, Shakin, and Cool As Kim Deal. Zia ended this extravagant gig with her Daisy Song.

Did anyone else from this list see that show? I wanna see if you share my thoughts.

Love and dandy greetings to you all
