UPDATE (kinda): Since I have uploaded so many pics from the concerts this summer, I created a page collecting them all: Summer 2002 concerts So, while the "there's no multimedia on the site" comments below are still in effect, there are some things on the site....
This page is just a filler page, for the most part, to explain why there is not much multimedia on this site (by which I mean photos, audio and video). Ever since day one of slabtown.net, the main menu has had listings for various multimedia categories, but has never had anything actually up for them. The reason they were listed is simple: placeholders. Much like this page you're reading is. As to why there is not actual content there, the answer to that is much more complex and in multiples: 1) website space. Currently, i have over 800 various Dandy Warhols pictures and about as many various audio recordings of them (mp3, wav, etc). But, all of that would take up a lot of room, so I didn't want to put anything up, since it wouldn't be worth the time right now, due to website space. 2) Copyrights. While this isn't as big a deal to me (since pretty much everything in the articles and interview sections are not used properly), it is still something that I have to think about. I have a lot of pictures that are from the official site, or from other corporate sites (NME, Rolling stone, etc), as well as some that I took from sites that are peoples personal sites and which they even specifically ask to not steal them. Since I don't want to have to be taking pictures up and down all the time because someone complains of copyrights, I just don't want to put them up yet. 3) Low priority: Maybe it is because I already have all the stuff, but for me, putting pictures, audio and video files on the site just aren't as important as discographies, gigographies, articles, lyrics, new information, etc etc. For a short-term solution, an option for me will be to just link to the pictures on other peoples sites, but I am not a fan of this. I would prefer that slabtown.net be a site that is not just a gateway to other sites. But, this is probably the only realistic option anytime soon.
