Slabtown.net note: This article came out days before the band signed to Capitol Records.

In terms of pure buzz, this is bound to be the show of shows at this year's NXNW. The Dandys have been wined and dined of late by a number of major-label A&R departments hoping to woo the crown jewels of the Tim/Kerr Records artist roster out of the farm leagues and into the bigs. It would be temptin gto dismiss the band as nothing more than facile formalists, if only they didn't do their '90s update of the British Invasion sound so well. Like their namesake, the Warhols are more interested in reflecting existing pop culture than creating something altogether new, but they'll still have you tapping your toe to their preening pop in no time. The enterprising quartet easily conquered Portland with a surprisingly mature debut release, Dandys rule OK - all trippy guitars and ultra-catchy vocals - and a number of infectious live performances.
