Dandy Warhols / Tim/Kerr Recods Dandys Rule, O.K. press release

The Dandy Warhols
by The Dandy Warhols
1995

Every now and then a band comes along that has it. Portland's The Dandy Warhols is one of those elite groups. Led by guitarist/vocalist Courtney Taylor, The Dandy Warhols produce a dizzy, highly-charged blend of rock, pop and modern psychadelia. With hooks as strong as any British Invasion band, a wealth of style and a thoroughly modern point of view, TheDandy Warhols' sound is something all too rare in contemporary music: cetifiably classic. Hear it and believe it.
The title of The Dandy Warhols debut full-length CD, Dandyw Rule OK, updates the old Mods rally cry of "Mods Rule OK!" Like the Mods before them, the Dandy Warhols' songs are smart, sharp, and dressed to kill. Versatility and the ability to craft uncanny hooks makes Dandyw Rule OK a feast of one perfect pop song after another. "T.V. Theme song," "Nothin To Do, " and "Grunge Betty" are radio-ready hard pop gems; "Ride" is heavy, while "Lou Weed" is pure surprise; "Genius" and "Dick" slow it down to almost a standstill, while "Best Friend" and "Coffee and Tea Wrecks" ride sublime D.W. grooves; and the 16 minutes "Rave Up" does jsut that.
