Die Dandy Warhols wurden vom deutschen Rolling Stone für ihr vorliegendes zweites Album gerade als belanglos abgewatscht. Eine Meinung, die ich nicht im mindesten teilen kann, der zweite, wohl unter erheblichen Schwierigkeiten entstandene Silberling des Quartetts aus Portland/Oregon bietet nämlich Alternativrock der feinen Art: Ein bißchen Britop, ein bißchen Grunge, viel Psycholdelic und ein gerütteltes Maß Noise machen die 14 Songs des Albums zu einem Hörvergnügen besonderer Art. Wo Kula Shaker bei ihrem Debüt zu esoterisch auf der einen Seite, und zu süßlich britpoppig auf der andren Seite waren, sind die Dany Warhols heftiger nach vorn, und wesentlich einfallsreicher in ihren Soundspielereien. Manch einer mag sich auch an Garbage erinnert fühlen, doch "Come Down" hat ein paar wohltuende Ecken und Kanten mehr als das gerade erschienene Update der Altherrenrocker um Shirley Manson. So bleibt zu hoffen, daß die skurile Truppe, die mit ihrem Debütalbum "Rule...OK" und der Single "TV Theme Song" in den USA bereits einen veritable Hit in den Collegradios verbuchen konnten, mit der neuen Produktion auch bei uns den Durchbruch schaffen. Obwohl, ein Blick in die Charts zeigt, daß dies unwahrscheinlich bleibt: Sie sind einfach zu gut....

Fazit: Klasse moderne Psychodelic mit eingängigen Melodien- ein Gehimtip für Leute mit Freude an klasse Sound!

The Dandy Warhols was abgewatscht by the German Rolling Stone for its available second album straight as inconsequential. Some one may feel reminded of Garbage also, but "Come down" has few do good-ends corners and edges more than the straight published update of the Altherrenrocker around Shirley Manson. Thus it remains hoping that the skurile troop, which could already book a veritable hit in the Collegradios with its debut album "Rule... ok one" and the single "TV Theme Song" in the USA, with which new production also with us create the break-through. Although, a view points to the Charts that this remains improbable: They are simply too good....

Result: Class modern Psychodelic also in-usual melody a Gehimtip for people with joy in class sound!
