Last time round, the Dandys introduced us to the Monkey House by way of many and not very varied song titles alluding to drugs.

Now the Oregon trio, fresh from starring in the documentary film Dig!, are smokin' it good and proper. The lead single from forthcoming album Odditorium Or Warlords Of Mars is as good a taste as any for the stoner rock'n'roll set to beam down to our planet, luggage full to bursting with contraband.

Those early comparisons with The Velvet Underground will be affirmed with Smoke It, with its rambling campfire vibe. But the good news is, while it serves as a decent taste of things to come, it's nowhere near the best track on the album. The world looks set for an Indian summer of Warholian Warlordry. Cool, maaan.
