Les Dandy Warhols ne sont pas des dandies, et s’ils aiment Andy Warhol, c’est bien par hasard. Natifs de Portland, Oregon, ces quatre larrons (dont une «larronne») n’ont jamais vraiment fait parler d’eux, et c’est tant pis! Pourtant, c’est la révélation américaine du moment. Harmonieux mélange entre des racines profondément yankees et la défunte vague «Manchester» des années 1990, The Dandy Warhols sont les rejetons légitimes de R.E.M. et des Stones Roses. Si les guitares sortent souvent leurs atours acoustiques – le sautillant Get off, l’hypnotique Sleep – elles savent aussi bien jouer de gros riffs bluesy du meilleur aloi – le sulfureux Horse pills, le «stonien» Shakin’. Pour sûr que ces dandies-là vont bientôt crever le plafond, car tant de talent mérite de royales récompenses.

For sure that these dandies-là soon will burst the ceiling, because so much of talent deserves royal rewards.
