Get Off

Best known for their rock'n'roll excesses, penchant for on stage nudity and single about smack, the band with one of the worst names in history re-emerge with the first taster from their forthcoming album. Once hilariously described as a cross between Sonic Youth and The Stone Roses their music always appeared to be secondary to their lifestyle and never lived up to such misguided praise.

'Get Off' certainly marks a change of style for the band, moving away from the polished radio friendly sound of old. A little more rough and ready than previous singles this is a thigh-slapping, energetic acoustic hoe down reminiscent of Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger', complete with enough "Hoo-hahs" to keep any line dancing class happy. Seemingly at ease in this new found rustic setting, the band appear to have grown up a little and, in a moment of clarity, have written a half decent pop song.
