We Used To Be Friends

Great things were expected of The Dandy Warhols after their mega-hit 'Bohemian Like You' shot up the charts. These expectations were met with the release of the highly successful album 'Thirteen Tales of Urban Bohemia'. However, 'We Used to be Friends' is a huge let down in comparison to previous releases.

It's the first single to be taken from the band's forthcoming album 'Welcome to the Monkey House'. If this song is anything to go by then the album is best avoided.

On first listen, I was reminded of the Feeder song 'Day In Day Out'. However, once played back to back the similarties soon disappeared and it's obvious that The Dandy Warhols could only dream of imitating the mighty Feeder.

With production by Courtney Taylor-Taylor (who incidently, is also responsible for the Gawd awful lyrics) and Nick Rhodes (yes the one out of Duran Duran) you'd be forgiven for expecting great things. It's such a shame that they aren't delivered.

Overall, the lyrics are awful and the vocals are weak. This is definetly a case of a song that escaped rather than was released.
