The Dandy Warhols are putting the alternative back into Alternative rock on their second album and major label debut, "The Dandy Warhols Come Down." This Portland, Oregon foursome has put together a fine album of 60s-like-space-rock reminiscent of Spacemen 3 and the Velvet Underground featuring the awesome single, "Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth." Most of the album is not as smooth and commercially produced as that track (which is pretty much a novelty track). "The Dandy Warhols Come Down" is well produced by lead vocalist Courtney Taylor and Tony Lash. They worked very well together and recorded the Dandy Warhols humorous songs as well as they could be recorded. This album can become a little boring at times with its Sonic Youth-like noise tracks, but those can easily be skipped and the album can still be worth your money. The album is 66 minutes long and about 50 of those minutes are filled with entertaining tunes. Courtney Taylor has now proven that he is as "Cool As Kim Deal" (a song in which Taylor and the band pay homage to Deal and the Breeders) with thiscommendable collection of tunes, which is a bit too long, but worth the buy.
